The attached file is a quick look at the list of prisoners captured at the Second Battle of Ream’s Station on August 25, 1864. The list was recorded at Libby Prison in Richmond by the Confederate Provost Marshall’s office on August 27, 1864.

  1. James Fisk, private with 8th NY Heavy Artillery, my wife’s great uncle, was a prisoner from Battle of Reams Station. He was released in Feb 1864, died from disease that April. Any way to find what prison he was transferred to after being at Libby Prison. Wondering where he was released from, or like the story about Solomon, because of his sickness spent time on Richmond Hospital.

    1. I looked through my records and couldn’t find anything. You may possibly find a record of what happened to James Fisk after Libby prison in the National Archives, Records of the Commissary General of Prisoners, Record Group 249.
